Just a Little Bit

I'm glad you all liked my perfect dress! I'm taking it to London on the weekend, I'm squeezing in a wear wherever I can!

Just a quickie to show you what I'm wearing today:

Vintage dress from ebay, scarf from Dorothy Perkins and vintage clip on earrings - the first pair I've worn that are actually comfy!

Perfection is in the eye of the dresswearer

I had some lovely comments on my last post, specifically about me showing you my "perfect dress" but they made me think. I could show you the dress and all of you could think - what's special about that?? I always thought that my perfect dress would be an LBD, even though I don't wear a lot of black! So what constitutes the perfect dress?

The fit?

The colour?

The style?

It's possible that some people could think that this is the perfect dress...

Maybe in white...?

Maybe not!

Anyway, for the price of £12 on ebay I bought what for me, for now is the perfect dress. Another Henry Holland one as well!

It's just fabulous. Perfectly fitted, flattering cleavage, a bit of netting underneath to make it poofy, long enough but not too long and a funky pattern.

I'm wearing it with a Dorothy Perkins cardi and New Look boots.

Today, a nice sloppy casual outfit for work.

Charity shop skirt, George jumper with a cute brooch and the old faithful Missguided brogues.

Has anyone else achieved perfection? (ha!) What's your idea of a perfect dress?

It's the little things

So, I've found the perfect dress. It's perfect. But it was so perfect that I flounced about and had fun in it so much that I didn't take a picture of it. But I'm wearing tomorrow so next week you'll see it! Bet you can't wait.

In the meantime have a look at some not so perfect but still lovely things.

My all navy, I'm-wearing-a-sweater-not-a-jumper outfit:

And new in from a charity shop (as well as Topshop shoes given to me on the weekend by a friend)

Lovely stuff.

Enjoy your weekends, I'll be flouncing around again (in a scabby pub probs) but having fun!

Spooky

EDIT: I wrote this post last week but Blogger was being evil and wouldn't let me post it. So I'm going to do it now anyway, apologies for it being a bit out of date and post-fireworks!

Trapped between Halloween and Bonfire Night is a good place to be. I'm hoping it stays clear and cold for firework-watching this weekend as I'm off to Cornwall to see the boys family and hopefully hold some sparklers. I was going to say in a gloved hand but it's so warm for this time of year, so maybe not.

I mentioned a couple of posts ago that I was doing the Brighton Zombie Walk the weekend before Halloween, here's how I ended up:

It was before the blood, I got messier!

My halloween was spent "watching" (if you can call hiding behind your hands and playing solitaire on your phone watching) a scary film at my friends house. It just reaffirmed how scared of scary films I am. I was even grateful to my friends baby crying loads because then we missed bits of the film! Bless her.

I found a dress to wear to my friends house that I'd bought about four years ago, that can really only be worn on that one day of the year:

Isn't it great for Halloween?!

Now a couple of new buys:

A very funkily coloured dress from Dorothy Perkins, going cheeeeeep in the sale, a daisy dress from ebay by Henry Holland (my new addiction), and a stripy vintage blazer from a charity shop.

You may remember this psychedelic tomato-coloured dress that I got from a charity shop a while ago. I put it on recently and was really disappointed, it just wasn't flattering. But then I remembered my trick of hoisting it up and tucking it into a belt and voila! How funky does it look! It's next on my list to chop and hem.

Boob alert! I found this purple dress at the back of my wardrobe recently, in the middle of an ebay clearout. I have no idea where it came from or how long I've had it, and assumed it was too small but thought I'd try it on just in case before I put it in my "to sell" pile. Now it's definately a keeper! I wore it to the pub that same night because I was so excited. Worn with my Betty Black spotty teeny jacket thing (I have a way with words).

Take a Bow

Good times. Autumn things are coming out of the cupboard, I'm doing a big clear out on ebay and actually getting some money from it, and of course quickly buying things to fill up the teeny amount of available space there is from the clear out...

Ah well. I'm an addict; My name is Danni and I love buying clothes.

Yesterday I manged to get a gorgeous dress from H&M for £5 after the sale tag said £15 but a smaller version of the same said £5; I took them both to the counter ready to fight for the cheaper option, but the lady barely glanced at them before saying "yeah it's a fiver". Great! And I saw a hair bow that I'd been wanting for a while priced accidentally for £1.99 while all the others were £3.99 so I got that. And I had a £5 gift card so I only paid that £1.99! Sorry, very garbled story there. I was pleased anyway.

Here are a couple of my outfits from the second half of this week, including said bow!

Lovely purple wraparound dress from LK Bennet via TK Maxx, with my magnifying glass necklace (gift from my sister).

Cute dress from Dotty P's, big thick cardi was a present from a friend, and the lovely bow from H&M.

Check out my guest post on the lovely Amii's blog here.

School days and zombies

Phew, it's quite quickly come round to half term at college, and even though I'll be working on my days off it's nice to have a break! It's been tough getting my brain into learning mode again, even though I'm loving the course. I've decided to do a Psychology degree next year so I spent the weekend running around London to look at a couple of universities (I'm moving to London in the summer from Brighton).

I also managed to fit in chinese with a friend and a fantastic houseparty where I made some new friends. I love when that happens, especially as I worry beforehand like a nine year old that no one will want to talk to me. Alcohol helps (not if you are actually nine).

Here's my round up of outfits for the week so far:

This outfit was SO COMFORTABLE! Everything I'm wearing is from Primark except the vintage necklace/watch. How cute are the shorts!

I went charity shopping mad in a spare hour I had and these are two of my favourites. A lacy F&F tshirt and a red herring dress, still with tags on. About £8 altogether.

Today's outfit is a skirt from New Look, tshirt from H&M and a Dorothy Perkins cardi.

This weekend's fun is the Brighton Zombie Walk - it's fantastic, hundreds of people dressed up and acting like zombies, doing a walk through Brighton while all the traffic stops to look and kids run away scared...!

ME!
