Festively thrown together

I constantly crave coloured tights, but can never find any in my size. I can barely find normal tights for that matter! I love the way they look but combined with the fact that ALL my dresses are bum skimmers because I rely on my leggings too much, means I don't wear tights a lot.

But when I was in Primark yesterday I picked up a rust/burnt orange/reddy orange/who knows coloured pair of leggings, so these will have to do me for now!

Skirt and leggings - Primark, tshirt - Iron Fist, Cardi - H&M, Boots - Evans

I had an idea in my head of what this outfit would look like having bought the leggings and skirt, wanting to wear one of my new tshirts and finding these gorgeous boots and promising myself to wear them. I got dressed and came out to the mirror with trepidation in case it hadn't worked. But it did! Although the skirt is a wee bit short for work. Ah well, there's no one in today anyway.

On another point, how come when I'm Christmas shopping I always manage to get loads of stuff for me? It makes me remember why I don't go shopping that much any more, because I cannot control myself.

I bought a pair of shoes that I could NOT afford, luckily the boyfriend was struggling for a present for me so he "bought" me those! Happy days. He is wrapping them up though so they'll be part of a 'what I got for Christmas' post.

I probably won't be posting again before Christmas, so have a fantastic time everyone!

Quick change

Hi everyone!

I'm only just beginning to feel festive - I watched Love Actually last night which is the way I mark Christmas time beginning, and then it snowed in Brighton - only for about half an hour and it didn't settle but still!

So - I've been fed up of lugging about a change of clothes for Christmas parties after work when I haven't got time to go home and change. Even if I start off the day thinking I look nice, if I go out somewhere I always like to wear something different. I'm well known for always dressing up and I like doing it! But as good as I am at packing light (wearing the belt or cardi that evening that I wore to work, keeping the same shoes on too) it does get annoying carrying things around and getting changed in teeny tiny toilets.

So this week I wore an outfit to college that only involved swapping a jumper for a jacket and it was so nice and easy. I'm going to try and do this with more outfits.

The comfy day version: red jumper from George, blue dress River Island (via charity shop), black boots from Evans.

The funky evening version: belt (worn previously under the jumper) from Primark, Jacket from charity shop.

Luckily I never wear heels so I can just keep the same shoes on.

Have any of you got any good tricks for getting ready for a Christmas party? Or do you just go home and do it properly?

What a week

What a crazy week or so it's been. My Dad and Stepmum came to stay and we got drunk and wandered the Laines all weekend, then I FINALLY submitted my UCAS application - the personal statement was the most stressful thing I've ever done, I've had two Christmas parties (both of which I organised), gone to the dentist with a horrific hangover to have extensive work done and then today the temporary crown on my tooth fell of after 24 hours leaving me with a stump that makes me a) want to cry and b) look like a pirate.

I CANNOT WAIT until this week is over.

Anyway, now for some nice things.

Another new tshirt, I'm doing well with building up my collection:

Tshirt - Flawless Clothing, skirt and cardi - Primark
Isn't it amazing?! I couldn't resist it.

Tom got a really cool one too which I totally would have bought if they did it as a womans tshirt:

One of my new ebay purchases which reminds me of a flamenco dancer:

I love it! So colourful. I got yet another Henry Holland dress too but haven't taken a picture yet.

Lastly today's outfit, a dress from a charity shop which I still haven't got round to taking up so I just have to tuck the material into a belt:

Worn with my favourite bracelet, a present from my boyfriend a while ago:

Have fantastic weekends everyone, here's to next week being a lot calmer and a lot more Christmassy, I'm still not in the festive mood yet!

Suprise outfit & the best skirt in the world

I hate being in a panic and not having an outfit planned in my head that I can just put on and get on with my make up. I always try and pre-choose my outfit so I'm not standing there with the contents of my wardrobe around me stressing out. The downside is that I forget things that are at the back of my wardrobe, and I don't get to do suprise outfits much. You know when you pull out a few things, put them together and SUPRISE! It actually works. This happened to me lately.

It doesn't show so well in the pictures, but the mustard shrug just went SO well with my silky black dress. I only threw it on in a panic. I also finally got my first wear out of these fabulous navy shoes I bought about a year ago, luckily I wasn't walking much (I don't really do heels despite having loads!)

Dress - Bershka, shrug - Dorothy Perkins, Shoes - Evans.

And now for the amazing skirt that I'm wearing today.

Isn't it beautiful? I got it from Butler and Wilson (I was very excited when I found out they did some clothes as well as jewellery) for £15 in the sale. I haven't worn it for ages but I get so many compliments when I do.

I hope you all have lovely weekends, I've got my Dad and Step-mum visiting, so lots of time in the pub, and I need to finish off my personal statement for my UCAS application - I'm finding the whole thing more stressful than anything before so I'll be very relieved when it's sent off on Tuesday.

Oh and all you lovely people who comment, I appreciate it so much, I do read your blogs but time limits me to just being a lurker at the moment I'm afraid! Virtual hugs to you and all my readers though!

Camden Market

Camden Market was absolutely lovely. My friend and I were a little bit confused at first, we walked into the first bit of the market which was all cheapy t-shirts and horrible cheap dresses. We walked through there for a few minutes, came out the other side and had a horrible moment where we though that was it. THAT was the famous Camden Market?!

Then we stopped being complete idiots and realised there were a million stalls on the other side of the road/river. I was so happy it was good I went a bit mad and bought some crazy stuff.

Firstly: a slight swedish looking 60's vintage dress:

Isn't it such a beautiful pattern? And it's got pockets! I know there's a lot of love out there for dresses with pockets. It's cut low in the back as well, unfortunately despite my incredible bendyness (ha) I couldn't get a picture of this.

Secondly, the most amazing scarf ever. I swear I've seen a blogger with this before but can't remember who.

Zebras!! I had to go through so much hassle, I'd run out of money so I had to use my phone to transfer money, which is a slow process at the best of times, but I had no signal either, then there was only a cash machine that charged, I almost gave up but I'm so glad I didn't! I put it on straight away. The dress above was what I was wearing for my market experience.

Lastly but SO not leastly, my favourite thing. A bunny t-shirt!

And not just any bunny t-shirt. He's got glasses like mine and a cake with a carrot in it. I love this so much.

I'll leave you with some pictures.
